This is a pic of me in March 2003. I was on my way to the hospital to have Daniel. I like this pic because Im a big girl (not as big now) and you can tell that Im pregnant. I also like how my face looks. I think a woman looks beautiful when she is pregnant. So anyway I came across the pic and liked the memory so I decided to share it today!

Kind of sad today

I know that change is good most of the time, but I guess I have to question it sometimes. Someone is drifting out of my life and it hurts. I have a rough time believing that this change is for the good. I don't know why its happening but I can't deny it any more. It hurts and I don't feel like this change is a good change!

Friday Photo Flashback

I love this pic. This is 1987 and in the prime of my headbanger days. The hair, the eyeliner, the clothes, the attitude!! I thought I was the coolest thing in the world! LOL I would shudder in horror if my kids looked like this now. But I loved the metal and the group of people that loved metal too. Actually Im still friends with some of them now, and they are still the coolest and nicest people I know, just on a different caliber now. Enjoy!!

Week one of 52 weeks

Well for me this is week one! I saw this on my friend Alicia's blog and I just had to join in because I also believe that Mom's are never in pics and its just a shame. So this pic was taken on Sat. at my step grandson's birthday party. Daniel and I were sitting and talking and Beckah says Mom let me take a pic of you guys. So here it is. It was taken with my cell phone so its not the best quality! I love it though!

uggh What a day!!

I don't even know if I should post this yet because its not even over yet but man have I had a day.
I was up until 3 am doing some work, so I was looking forward to sleeping in. Well that didn't happen. Robbie got up which in turn woke up Daniel. So I was going on less then 3 hours of sleep.
I had to take Daniel to his OT to see how he is doing with his thumb. So on the way there something is not smelling right. Then I notice smoke. So I turn off the a/c and open the windows. Well yep its me. I look down and my temp meter is almost to the red. So I turn off all of the extra stuff and keep driving. I get to the Hospital where Daniel's OT is and it starts dinging to let me know that its too hot. So I call Kevin who is close but working. Daniel's appt. is an hour and I tell him I will call him when Im done. So before we are done he calls me to make sure where the van is and tells me that he is here and he is going to look at it. Well just as I get out of the Dr. he is pulling around. I walk to where he parks it and its obvious its still over heating. He opens the hood and the coolant is boiling. So now Im stuck. He has his work truck but he can't take me and Daniel in it. So I have to figure out how to get home. Well I call my Dad first. He just retired and should be home. He was shopping but on his way home when I called. He says to me that it would be easier if I could find someone else to pick me up because it would be over an hour. So that upset me. But I called around and couldn't find anyone. So I called Kevin back, and he had no idea. So I tried someone that I had already tried. They were home and they said they would come and get me. Poor thing though got stopped by an accident and then the cops that were going to the accident, then got lost going through a park she forgot was there. Finally she is there and we get in and come home. Im thrilled to be home but know that we have to get it fixed.
I find all the info for our auto insurance and Kevin calls. We have tow coverage but its where you pay and they pay you back and its only $50 which will cover about half. So then he calls our mechanic and he says he can't look at it until tomorrow, which is fine. I have nothing going on and this guy treats us really well!!

So its all ok, and I know that we will get it fixed, but we really really don't have any extra money this month and Im concerned what we are going to do. Trust God!!

How the house is coming together so far

So those of you that follow my blog know that we just moved. Those of you that know me personally know that Im not a well organized or motivated person. Yes its a fault and its one that I can't seem to do much about. I try, but I find the more I try the more I resent it and don't do it. I find more reward in the heart matters of my family then I do in having things perfect. I know some identify with that and some probably think Im a slob that needs fly lady. Either way Im putting my new home out there for everyone to see. Ready??

This is us on Sunday. I wanted to take a pic of us in front of our new home. Little did I know it was going to be a huge job. Needless to say I think this is a pretty good pic.



This is the kitchen. The kids just got done with breakfast. At least the dishes are not piled high in the sink. So happy to have a dishwasher again!!



Here is the dining room. Yeah its kinda empty right now, but Kevin is going to build us a new table. Im refering to it as a Waltons table. Its going to be made out of 2x4's and then we are going to stain it. Im going to pick a pretty tablecloth and matching valances for the two windows in the dining area and the one window in the kitchen.



This is the living room. There are corners you can't see but this is the jist of it. I love how its turning out. On the wall I am going to make a photo collage of flowers. I just have to get some frames to do it. I think we are going to paint a tan color in here, we haven't decided yet, and Im going to get burgundy curtains for the window.



Here is Kevin and my office. Its no where near done. We are going to get some of those bracket shelving because Kevin has so many books but we don't want to take up floor space. I think Im going to paint this room a Chocolate brown.



Here is the upstairs bathroom. I love this bathroom. Mostly because its 3x the size of the last bathroom that we had. You probably can't see it but there is a light green color in the shower curtain and that is the color I want to paint this room.



Robbie and Daniels room. We are going to paint this 2 wall green and 2 walls blue. Thats what they want so I said OK. :)




Here is mine and Kevin's room. I love our room. Its in the back of the house, we have that sliding door off our room. Its so nice at night in there. Its just so relaxing. I am thinking about painting this room a pale yellow and getting some black and white bedding.



Downstairs bathroom. The kids picked the curtain. Its about 2x a big as our old one. How nice to have a second bathroom again!!



This is Ryan's room. He is working on getting it put together. He was away at camp all week last week so he didn't get anything done last week. He wants to paint dark orange and dark purple stripes in here. I said ok but when you leave you leave you have to paint it back to white.



This is the laundry/storage room. Not much to say here, cept I want a door!



This is Beckah and Raelynn's room. It is no where near done. Kevin is going to build them platforms for their beds and then we will paint them. Then they will go shopping for their birthdays and get new bed outfits, new curtains, new stuff, and paint. I don't know what they are going to paint it but Im assuming it will be variations of lavender and aqua. They are my messiest kids, please don't mind the mess in this pic.



And here is probably my most prized room of the house. This is our school room. As you can see we still have a little work to do but we have done a lot in there already. I am thinking of painting it a bright yellow and hanging their art work and projects on the walls. I love this room.



There is one other room that I didn't get a picture of. Its the play Room and because we are doing so many other things the play room has become the catch all. So when I am done and that room is finished I will post a pic of it too!

Here is a picture of my Step Daughter getting ready for her wedding. No one was taking pictures while we were in the bridal room so I whipped out my camera and took a few. I love this picture. She is so beautiful!!
